BALTIMORE Part Time Data Entry Encoder between 10pm and 7am
MAIL TERMINAL SERVICES seeks PART TIME MAIL ENCODERS 5 OR 6 HOURS night shift Between 10 or 11:00 pm and 6 or 7am

We need your help sorting the mail, packages and parcels to the correct street address, city, state, zip code...location!

SUMMARY:
Ensure mailing addresses are accurately encoded on mail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Enter zip codes and mailing addresses into data entry system
2. Affix labels to mail
3. Operate a hand or foot activated barcode or optical character reader
4. Meet encoding production standards utilizing proper encoding procedures.
5. Notify Supervisor of all non qualified mail
6. Assist in other areas as needed
7. Management reserves the right to add to or modify the duties and/or responsibilities of Encoders

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School or equivalent training and/or work experience preferred

CHARACTERISTICS/SKILLS:

  • Basic oral and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Data Entry Skills
  • Excellent Typing skills (Keystroke speed and accuracy very important)
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to follow procedures
  • Basic reading skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Long periods of sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and transport of materials
  • Bending and lifting of mail sacks and tubs not in excess of 50 lbs. and averaging appx. 35 lbs.
  • Repetitive lifting of mail up to 15 lb
  • Repetitive hand/arm movements in encoding mail
  • Bending, pushing and pulling hampers
  • Noise level generated from other distribution activity can be somewhat loud at times, but no damaging levels or protective equipment required
  • Temperature in the distribution center can vary greatly from warm to cool
