} MTS HITS RECORD 100,000 MARK in MAIL FROM HOME PROGRAM

Mail Terminal Services hits record 100,000 mark in Mail from Home program: The popular Mail from Home program instituted by Mail Terminal Services in 2007 as part of the company's support of the Vavoline/Mail Terminal Services Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car driven by Jack Beckman reached 100,000 cards as of this weekend, surpassing last year's 90,000 mark.

The Mail from Home program allows fans and competitors an opportunity to sign unique cards in the Don Schumacher Racing hospitality area and at a kiosk in the U.S. Army Racing Zone at NHRA national events with messages to the U.S. troops overseas, which are then distributed free to war-zone camps by MTS.

To help exceed last year's total, Mail Terminal Services held a competition among its 17 terminals around the U.S. to collect the highest number of cards. The Minneapolis terminal was determined the winner after the Richmond NHRA event and received the privilege of sending two representatives to the 2008 Las Vegas event for a four-day working vacation on MTS. They staffed the U.S. Army kiosk and watched the races and were treated to a stay at a casino hotel and a show.

"As far as reaching our goal, MTS has been very, very successful in all of the races in beating last year's records on cards," said Rodger Comstock, president and CEO of Mail Terminal Services. "At the last race in Vegas, we had the team from our Minneapolis terminal at the event. In Brainerd this year, the Minneapolis terminal had the highest card count for a single day of 2,000 and exceeded 5,000 for a weekend.

"This weekend in Pomona, we have the manager and his wife from our military terminal in Newark, N.J. That is the terminal that not only collects the cards during the year but actually sends them overseas. Each of our terminals has been higher in its productivity in producing the cards, but, looking at the overall picture and the support that the U.S. Army has given us in their kiosk and allowing us to have cards filled out there, along with the Schumacher hospitality area, has really pushed us over the top to set that record.

"We owe a debt of appreciation to the Army, to the whole U.S. Army race team, its sports marketing agency Momentum, and also to all of the MTS people who have worked so hard this year. It's a tribute to all of the 1,200 employees around the country who have been very successful at collecting the cards."

"We at Don Schumacher Racing are privileged to be a part of this wonderful program that Mail Terminal Services has introduced to our team and NHRA," said team owner Don Schumacher. "We heartily support MTS' efforts in this extremely rewarding endeavor."

Mail Terminal Services is a business-to-business mail-sorting and -forwarding company, which has strategic partnerships with the U.S. Postal Service and Globalmail. Led by Comstock, MTS is headquartered in Weston, Fla., and operates 17 terminals throughout the United States.

} BECKMAN SUPPORTS TROOPS IN INDY
The popular and highly-successful Mail from Home program instituted by Mail Terminal Services in 2007 as part of the company's support of the Valvoline/Mail Terminal Services Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car driven by Jack Beckman will be featured on the car at the U.S. Nationals Aug. 29-Sept. 1 in honor of the U.S. troops overseas.

The Mail from Home program allows fans and competitors an opportunity to sign unique cards in the Don Schumacher Racing hospitality area and at a kiosk within the U.S. Army Racing Zone at NHRA national events with messages to the U.S. troops overseas, which are then distributed free to war-zone camps by MTS. The number of postcards distributed by MTS so far in 2008 is expected to exceed the 90,000 mark that was reached in 2007.

"It became evident starting in Denver (July 11-13) that the Mail from Home program was really gaining a lot of momentum," said MTS President and CEO Rodger Comstock. "And in Brainerd (Aug. 8-10) a new record of 1800 cards collected in one day was set, with an overall record of over 5000 cards for the weekend.

"I made the decision then that we would have a car at the U.S. Nationals dedicated to the troops who receive the mail. And, on the car is a picture of a soldier reading his mail in the war zone.

"Our goal is to keep the momentum going and exceed the 90,000 number of cards we delivered to the troops in 2007. We project that MTS will deliver over 100,000 cards by the end of 2008."

To help achieve this goal, Mail Terminal Services is holding a competition among its 17 terminals around the U.S. to collect the highest number of cards. The winning terminal will be determined after the Richmond, Va., NHRA event (Oct. 10-12) and will have the privilege of sending two representatives to the Las Vegas event (Oct. 31-Nov. 2) for a four-day working vacation on MTS. They will man the U.S. Army kiosk and watch the races, and will be treated to a stay at a casino hotel and a show.

"The success of the Mail from Home program," added Comstock, "is the result of the dedication of the 1100-plus employees of Mail Terminal Services in supporting our partners at DHL Global Mail, the United States Postal Service and all of their customers at home and overseas."

"We've enjoyed tremendous racing success through our technical partnership with all of the Don Schumacher Racing teams, including wins by the Valvoline/MTS Funny Car." said John Stotz, Director of Global Brands for Valvoline. "We're proud to further support the MTS at-the-track correspondence campaign and our troops abroad with a special paint scheme on Jack Beckman's Funny Car during the U.S. Nationals.

"We at Don Schumacher Racing are privileged to be a part of this wonderful program that Mail Terminal Services has introduced to our team and NHRA," said team owner Don Schumacher. "We heartily support MTS's efforts in this extremely rewarding endeavor."

BECKMAN GAINS POINTS IN GAINESVILLE, FINISHES IN QUARTERS

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (March 16, 2008) - "Fast" Jack Beckman, driver of the Valvoline/Mail Terminal Services Dodge Charger R/T, is just six points out of the Funny Car lead in the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing series after three events so far, following his quarterfinal finish today at the NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway. No. 1 in the standings, Robert Hight, was eliminated in the opening round.

The Frank Hawley Drag Racing School instructor first defeated his "boss" Frank Hawley in the first stanza, with a very close 4.866-second pass at 320.66 mph to Hawley's 4.898/321.04, then fell to Tim Wilkerson in the second round after posting a 4.957/307.09 to Wilkerson's winning 4.848/322.34. Beckman had the edge on take-off, but was passed by his opponent at the 60-ft. mark.

"It wasn't a great weekend, but it was a good weekend," said Beckman, winner at the last event in Phoenix. "We qualified top half and we won a round again, and we just ran into a buzz saw in the second round named Tim Wilkerson.

"Really, we did everything we wanted to. The race track was hot, we set it up to run a low 4.90 (-second elapsed time). The only thing is it moved over a little bit and spun the tires.

"But, when Tim Wilkerson is running a 4.84, that's awful tough. We were third low (elapsed time) of the round. We took a calculated guess of what the track would hold and we got beat. No excuses. We're ready to go to Houston. Everybody on the Valvoline/MTS Dodge crew is upbeat and enthusiastic right now."

As for that race against Hawley, "Well, the interesting thing is I think the perception is that we were staring back and forth at each other and it's kind of like one of those Hollywood-ish deals," said Beckman. "The reality is, when you're strapped in one of these Dodge Chargers, it's like being in the back seat of a station wagon and the side windows are blacked out. You really can't see much next to you.

"It was a great race. We were together from start to finish, and the analogy I give is, I'm a little leaguer, I stepped up to the major leagues and Mickey Mantle came out of retirement and let me pitch to him. It's awesome. I have all the respect in the world for Frank. I thought it was great to go up against him, win, lose or draw. Obviously I'm happy we won, and I think he's going to be giving the rest of us full-time drivers fits the rest of the year.

"I haven't seen him yet. I have to make sure I still have a job."

Next up is the 21st annual NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston, Texas, March 28-30.

} BECKMAN CLAIMS NO. 6 IN GATORS QUALIFYNG
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (March 15, 2008) - After grabbing the No. 1 spot in the first of only two qualifying sessions today (due to Friday's rain-out of all pro qualifying) with a 4.847-second lap at 325.27 mph, Jack Beckman had to settle for No. 6 following the second and final round, when the Valvoline/Mail Terminal Services Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car overpowered the track. That final pass produced an 11.106/75.80 result.

"Let me tell you something," said Beckman, an instructor at Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School. "I would much rather be in the situation we were in today, sitting in the back of the Funny Car pairings in the last qualifying session, 95 percent sure you're going to be in the field, and be able to hop the car up and take a home-run shot for No. 1, than where we were in Phoenix coming up for the last session and not qualified, praying that whatever happens that the car gets into the show."

For the second straight 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series race, Friday's two qualifying sessions were rained out. In Phoenix, Beckman qualified in his final attempt, then went on to win the event.

"So, we actually had the luxury of being able to take a free shot at the race track and we had too much horsepower that last run," said Beckman, who failed to qualify here last year.

"But, I tell you, this is awesome. We qualified, we qualified top half and I've got Frank Hawley first round tomorrow. I would've never imagined 10 years ago when I went to work for him we'd get him out of retirement, get him back in a Funny Car, and I'd be in the other lane first round."

CHANDLER, Ariz. (Feb. 24, 2008) - Piloting the Valvoline/Mail Terminal Services Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car, Jack Beckman captured his first Funny Car victory of the season today, the fourth of his career, and propelled himself into the No. 2 spot in the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Funny Car point standings.

This was Beckman's sixth appearance in a final round since he joined Don Schumacher Racing for the last five races of 2006, and he now can boast a 2-0 round win record over his final-round opponent today, Robert Hight.

En route to the final, Beckman, suffering from the flu this weekend, posted three of four straight passes, winning first against John Force Racing driver Mike Neff with a 4.874-second elapsed time at 318.02 mph, then defeating his DSR teammate Gary Scelzi in the second round with another stout 4.884/320.20.

His only slip was in the semifinal against Jim Head, where he slowed to a 5.612/191.35 but still claimed the win. Co-crew chief Rick Cassel (with Tommy DeLago) attributed that blip to a "tuning error," which was duly undone for the final round.

The final match-up saw the popular cancer survivor face off against Pomona winner Robert Hight, also from the John Force Racing stable. Hight had the edge at the starting lights, a .066 reaction time (.000 is perfect) to Beckman's .090, but it was Beckman straight as an arrow and first at the finish line with another stellar 4.868/320.20 pass. Hight lost traction early, reaching the stripe in 8.030 seconds at 105.28 mph.

For the all-new Valvoline/MTS crew, assembled just weeks ago, this was a stunning victory.

"I went through chemotherapy," said Beckman of his illness, "so I get a flu shot now every year, but I guess the flu this year is immune to that shot. I'm living proof. We drove the motor home out here (from North Hills, Calif.) and I had to make an appearance on Wednesday. You get up in the morning and you just feel like hell. I'm thinking it will go away tomorrow and it didn't. And you look at the back of the cold medicine and it says 'do not operate heavy machinery.' I don't know if that counts as a Nitro Funny Car. I didn't want to take anything, but after the second round I finally had to take some Tylenol. It was just getting hot in that thing. I'm glad it wasn't a 95-degree day in the summer. We would have been in big trouble.

"Your head's kind of fuzzy all day long and we went out there and won the semis and I told (announcer) Alan Reinhart at the top end, Ooh, great, we're going to the semifinal. I couldn't even keep track of winning two or three rounds there. And it's a little bit surreal because of that, but more so because of what the crew was able to pull off on this deal.

"In the off season Jerry Toliver came on board as another Schumacher car and basically the Valvoline/MTS car started from scratch. We had an empty trailer, bare chassis and a crew that had never worked together as a group of nine. And they assembled everything, ordered new tools for it, re-stocked the trailer, put new motors together, so they hadn't torn a car apart as a team until we came here for the test session, and I think it was nice to get 12 runs here in the test session. My God, are they jelling now. Two races into it we've already gotten to the winner's circle."

As for the rest of the season, "I don't think there's a Funny Car driver or team owner here that would get arrogant or try to make any predictions for this year," Beckman said. "It's going to be a dog fight all year long. You've got 21 teams showing up for most of the races. Everybody who qualifies is tou

} JACK BECKMAN, MAIL TERMINAL SERVICES DODGE FUNNY CAR AT NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE WEDNESDAY IN LAS VEGAS
Jack Beckman and the Mail Terminal Services Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car he drives in the 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series will be at the Nellis Air Force Base, outside of Las Vegas, known as the "Home of the Fighter Pilot," on Wednesday, Oct. 24, in advance of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Oct. 25-28.

A former Air Force sergeant and the defending ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals event champion, Beckman will be on hand to sign autographs alongside his car from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., while also visiting the wounded and injured airmen that day at the base hospital, something he has done for several years. Also on display will be the Kalitta Racing's Support Our Troops and Families Top Fuel car driven by Hillary Will, and the DHL-sponsored Funny Car of Scott Kalitta.

Kalitta Air works in partnership with DHL to fly the mail that is sorted and staged by Beckman's sponsor Mail Terminal Services to Bahrain for delivery in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.

Don Schumacher Racing and MTS, through its partnerships with the U.S. Post Office and DHL Globalmail, honor service personnel of a different war-zone camp in Iraq and Afghanistan at each of the 23 NHRA national events by displaying the camp name on the MTS Funny Car and distributing post cards signed by fans to the troops overseas through its highly-successful "Mail from Home" program.

"I'm excited," said Beckman, who is also an instructor at Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School in Pomona, Calif. "I love airplanes. I spent four years in the military. What we're doing this year is supporting the military through Mail Terminal Services as our sponsor. I think it's a good chance for the people at the base who may not be able to make it out to the race track to see what NHRA racers and teams are doing for military personnel. We're going to make some noise. I understand Kalitta is going to start up his car there.

"I'm just really excited to get to spend extra time with military people," added Beckman, two-time Funny Car winner this season. "I've got several friends on the base whom I have met during the hospital visits there. I'll probably take a couple of tours in the maintenance shop, which is very similar to what my job was in the Air Force (avionics), so I'll get a chance to relate to some of the soldiers who are probably 20 years younger. Hopefully we can sit down and talk for a while and maybe I can answer some questions and even give them some guidance."

Said Rodger Comstock, President and CEO of Mail Terminal Services, and an NHRA Super Comp racer himself, "Because of Jack's Air Force background and the fact that MTS stages 500,000 pounds of mail a day for the troops during the holidays, we accepted the invitation from DHL Express to do this. Jack usually visits the base hospital and sees the wounded and injured airmen, so this time he will be able to not only have the car on display, but make a visit to the hospital at the same time."

Beckman and the MTS Dodge will also appear at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, near San Diego, Calif., on Nov. 5, following the final NHRA national event of the 2007 season at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona in Pomona, Calif., Nov. 1-4.

"From our point of view," continued Comstock, "it's like the 'Mail From Home' program. It's a way of showing our appreciation to, in this case the Air Force and the Marine Corps, for all their efforts. We sort and stage the mail that goes to the Air Force and Marine Corps and having the opportunity to actually display the car at their bases is just a strong gesture of appreciation to them."
